If you have at least one child under the age of five, and live in Swaffham, Dereham, Watton or the surrounding villages, speak to us about getting the support you need. There can be many reasons why families face times of difficulty. We won’t judge you, our support is confidential and tailored to your individual needs.
Our volunteers are parents themselves who can offer you emotional and practical support, such as help shopping when you have several young children, or help securing financial assistance through maximising income. Speak to us and tell us what help you need.
There are several ways in which a family can be referred to Home-Start Swaffham & District. Referrals can be made by GPs, health visitors, education professionals, and others acting in a professional capacity. All referrals must be with the agreement of the family. If you’re a family needing support you can refer yourselves. Once you do this we’ll meet with you and match you with a suitable volunteer who’ll visit you for two hours each week for as long as you need it, or until your youngest child turns five, or starts full-time education.
You may be experiencing financial difficulties, or your child may have been diagnosed with a serious illness. There are many problems that you could be facing as a family including relocation, substance abuse, exhaustion, relationship problems, multiple births and inadequate housing. If you have at least one child who is under the age of five, and you’re struggling, for whatever reason, give us a call. We offer support to families, whatever their make-up, ethnicity, location, gender or immigration status.
